Galapagos Rockford Charter will launch an innovative program designed to accelerate the math performance of 5th-8th grade scholars in the Summer of 2016. This program, the G-Corps Fellowship, has led to significant gains at GRCS’ sister school in Chicago. G-Corps Fellows are recent college graduates who work one-on-one or in small groups with scholars to teach math concepts. This high dosage tutoring model is different from traditional tutoring, because it happens during the school day as a special class that scholars take.
The G-Corps Fellowship is an opportunity for young professionals to spend a year giving back to a community that needs stronger educational options for children. Our goal is simple: academic success for our scholars that will prepare them to succeed in college. We are excited to bring a successful model to the scholars of Rockford and look forward to watching their growth.
We are still accepting applications for this competitive fellowship program. Please check out the information on the pages above for more details about the program or go directly to our application to begin the process.
